Get Your House in Order

The Bible says in Romans 12:2 “be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We are presently in a series, “Get Your House in Order,” and this week we come to the mind. How do you renew your mind so real transformation can take place? 2 Cor. 10:3-6 leads us to God’s Way for renewal.

Divorce Care begins Sunday at 5:15 p.m.

The tragedy of divorce hits many homes and people. Divorce, regardless of the circumstances, leaves people hurting and wounded. Divorce Care is a Christ centered ministry that helps work through the pain to healing. Divorce Care is going to begin this Sunday, January 14th, at 5:15 p.m. If you have been through a divorce or have a family member or friend who has, please tell them about this wonderful ministry that will help them so much.

Prayer Meeting Change

We are going to change prayer meeting to Wednesday evenings at 6:30. We will meet in the Friendship Sunday school class. It has a small sound system, piano, and will be perfect for our needs. “On Bended Knee” is taking a break and plans to start back up in March after the time change. We will begin with a time of prayer, have a special song and a devotional. Come join us for the midweek service.

World Missions

The BMA of America has over 550 missionary families planting churches and making disciples in 71 countries. This week I want to highlight our Missions Directors. Dr. John David Smith, is director and Larry Barker is director for North America. Eric Johnson is the director of International missions. Eric is the grandson of Garlin and Ann Bell. Eric will be our speaker at the Missions Banquet on February 24th, and will also preach Sunday morning, February 25th. Please stop and pray for these three men as they lead the missions program for the BMAA.

World Missions Banquet February 24th

Our church and Ellis Hill Association is going to have a banquet for World Missions on February 24th. There will be a wonderful meal, music, testimonies, and inspirational stories about what our mission prayers and dollars are doing to help reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The tickets are going to be $10.00 and every penny from the tickets will go directly to World Missions.

Widows and Widowers Banquet

Our deacons will be hosting the annual Widows/Widowers banquet on February 11th, in the Family Life Center at noon. This is always a great time of fellowship and good food. If you are a widow or widower come join us for this special event.

Welcome New Members

The Lord continues to bless our church as He adds to our church family. We are so glad to welcome Doug and Marcy Strube. Doug and Marcy have already completed the membership class and are members of the Pathfinders class where Scott Gullett is the teacher. Let’s praise the Lord and give thanks for His blessings.

Marriage Conference

Mark your calendars for February 9th and 10th for a Marriage Conference. We have a marriage counselor coming in who is going to lead this conference. We must always be striving to strengthen our marriages. This conference will be a boost for every marriage.

First Look

This month marks 45 years that the tragic Roe vs. Wade case legalized abortion. We must continue to pray that this law will be over turned, and innocent lives will be saved. But we must also support our local, pro-life clinic that helps women make informed and life-saving choices. We have a clinic like that in Waxahachie and it is called First Look Clinic. Please see Jeremy’s article on how we can support and encourage this vital ministry. Let’s get behind this and make sure every woman has the support she needs to choose life.

I love you and I am glad to be your pastor and friend,

Bro. Richard
