That your JOY may be FULL
Do you ever get discouraged and wonder if it is worth it all? You are not alone. All Christians go through times of discouragement. In 1 John 3:1-3, John gives us a big dose of hope. John Maxwell said, “where there is no hope in the future, there is no power in the present.” As Christians, we have the best and brightest future of all.
This Sunday evening our church is setting aside six men to serve as deacons. This is always a very special time in the life of a church. These six men have a proven record of service and love for our God and our church – Joel Brown, Terry Lawrence, Johnnie Ozymy, Wendell Prewitt, James Strength, and Jody Ussery. Come join us Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.
Helping children around the world learn about Jesus is what Christmas shoeboxes are all about. Samaritan’s purse gives these boxes out to hundreds of children around the world. Please pick up a shoebox, fill it up and bless a child this Christmas.
Food Basket Collections
Each year our church prepares Thanksgiving baskets to help those who are in need. If you know of someone in need, please give their name to Pastor Jeremy. All the remaining baskets will help our community through Waxahachie Care. This Sunday we are collecting desserts to put in the baskets. Thanks for caring and always helping others. You are the best!
On Sunday nights we are going to be offering both a traditional service and a contemporary service. This is exciting! We believe God is going to use this to help us reach more people with the gospel. The traditional service will be in the main worship center with music led by Ron Perry. The contemporary service will be in the student worship center with music led by Aaron Greenwood. Help us spread the word and let’s reach out to the unchurched and win souls for Jesus.
BMA of Texas
The BMA of Texas will be meeting in Lindale, Texas this coming Monday and Tuesday. Aaron, Kim, and myself will be attending the meeting. Pray for a good meeting and that the BMA of Texas will move forward in reaching Texas with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Christmas at Farley Street
Is it too early to start talking about Christmas? I hope not, because I want to give you a heads up for your Christmas plans. This year’s theme is “Believe in CHRISTmas” with the emphasis on Jesus Christ. Isn’t that great?!!! We are planning some wonderful services to help you keep Christ in Christmas. Christmas is a time to reach out because more people are open to an invitation to worship than any other time of the year. Let’s seize that moment and invite people to “Believe in CHRISTmas.”
Schedule Plans for Christmas:
- Christmas series begins the Sunday following Thanksgiving.
- December 17th – Choir musical presentation “Believe in CHRISTmas” at 2 morning worship services – 9 am and 10:30 am
It is going to be awesome with beautiful songs, an orchestra and some inspiring features to encourage you to worship Christ. (Some Sunday school classes have been asked to come to the early worship service and have their Sunday school at 10:30 am.)
- December 24th Christmas Eve – 1 morning Candlelight service 10 am (no Sunday school) –
- Bring your family for this special service.
Decorating for Christmas is huge. Susan Stinson is the new leader of our decorating ministry and she is going to need lots of help. On Thursday, November 30th, we need everyone available to come and help. It will be a lot of work, but it will also be a lot of fun. Christmas is a great time of the year to share Jesus Christ, because He is the reason for the season.
Time Change November 5th
Don’t forget the time change is Sunday, November 5th. We fall back and gain an extra hour.
I love you and I am glad to be your pastor and friend,
