Our Strategy

How Do We Fulfill Our Mission Statement?

We use the word FRIEND as an acronym to remember how to fulfill our purpose.

        Fellowship

          Relevant Preaching/Teaching

          Intimate Worship

          Evangelism

          Nurture Servanthood

          Discipleship

Fellowship

We exist to unite God's family. Christian fellowship is a true mark of a child of God.  John 13:35 "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

The early church made much of fellowship.  Acts 2:42 "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." We need each other.  Christ never intended for you to grow as a Christian by yourself.  The heartbeat of Farley Street Baptist Church is friendship.

Relevant Preaching and Teaching

We exist to educate God's people. The early church made instruction a priority.  Acts 2:42 "And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles' doctrine. . ." Every week we make preaching the Word of God a priority. We also have small group Bible studies for every age and need.

Intimate Worship

We exist to worship. Worship is expressing love to God. Our worship promotes celebration, inspiration, and preparation. Worshippers are not spectators.  They are participants.  God is the audience.

Evangelism

We exist to evangelize. Jesus gave the church the Great Commission. As long as one person needs Christ, we must keep sharing the message of Jesus Christ. We use Evangelism Explosion to prepare our members to share their testimony effectively.

Nurture Servanthood

We exist to demonstrate God's Love. Ministry is meeting needs in Jesus name.  God puts in his church gifted and talented people to minister. One of the keys to our church growing and reaching others is ministries led by our members.

Discipleship

We exist to grow in commitment. The goal of every Christian is to be like Christ. Christ-likeness comes by making Christ Lord in every area of our life. Maturity does not happen automatically and we offer mentoring through discipleship where members are trained in the disciplines of the Christian life.

Our theme verse is John 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."

Our Vision:

To be a community of believers that cultivates spiritual growth, where positive faith is       developed, where hurts are healed, where friendships are developed, where marriages are       strengthened, where families are bonded, where love is alive and Jesus is Lord.
